Thomas Clinton Stark

Rutland Herald, Rutland, Vermont, Wednesday, August 8, 2007: Barre Town----Thomas Clinton Stark, 73, died Aug. 5, 2007, at Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin. Born in Corona, Calif., on Dec. 7, 1933, he was the son of Clinton M. and Florence (Fraser) Stark. He graduated from Grass Valley (Calif.) High School in 1951 and following his military service, he attended Chaffee Junior College in Southern California and later the University of Vermont in Burlington.
From 1951 to 1955, Mr. Stark served with the U.S. Air Force as a medic/pharmacist and was attached to an Army unit in Korea and a radar site in Japan. On April 11, 1958, he married Julia A. North in Reno, Nev. For many years, he was employed as a quality control manager for General Electric Co. assigned to their Burlington and Rutland plants. From 1986 to 2000, he operated his own company in Barre, "Applied Micro Technology." Mr. Stark was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, American Legion Barre Post #10; the Flags for Veterans Committee in Barre Town and City. He was chairman of Barre Town Republican Committee and had twice been a Four H All Star in Grass Valley, Calif. He enjoyed golfing, playing chess, hunting, fishing, building and flying model airplanes, gardening, genealogy, reading and skiing. Survivors include his wife of Barre Town; a daughter, Janis Busath of Barre City, and two sons, T. Christopher Stark of Warren and SFC Curtis Stark of Vergennes, currently with the 131st Engineer Group, VANG in Iraq; and five grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hersey Road, Berlin. Burial with full military honors will follow in Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Flags for Veterans, in care of Town Manager's Office, P.O. Box 116, Websterville, VT 05678. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, Barre.
