Bradford County Telegraph, Times & Monitor, February 8, 2007, Section B: Lawtey---Truby Griffis, 93, of Lawtey, died Jan. 31, 2007 at Shands Stake following a long illness. Born in Clay County on Oct. 18, 1913, Mr. Griffis moved to Bradford county where he resided for most of his lifetime.He was a construction worker in Jacksonville and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Griffis was preceded in death by his wife, Era Kirkpatrick Griffis and is survived by several cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Griffis will be held on Friday, Feb. 92007, at 11 a.m. at graveside in Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville, Ala. Local arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Starke.
