Final tribute to the memory of Mrs. Emma Belle Elliott, pioneer resident of the Panhandle who died in a local hospital Thursday afternoon, was paid yesterday afternoon. Rev. Jordan Grooms, associate pastor of the Polk Street Methodist Church, officiated at the services. Burial was in the Hereford Cemetery under director of Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home. Mrs. Elliott who was 77 years old, had been ill for a short time. Pallbearers were Alex Thompson, Oscar Easley, George V. Stambough, J. L. Fuqua, Cliff Acker and Ezra Norton. Survivors include four daughters, a son, a brother and eight grandchildren. Mrs. Elliott was a long-time resident of Hereford having moved there in 1907. Her late husband, Robert Elliott, was engaged in the dairy business in Deaf Smith County for many years. Since 1934 she has made her home with her daughter, Mr. E. B. Perryman, 1920 Polk Street, Amarillo. She is a member of the Oak Cliff Christian Church of Dallas and has attended the Browning Class of the Polk Street Methodist Church since living in Amarillo.
