Paul Ryan Skelton

Posted at findagrave.com: McKinney, Texas, March 8---Reburial services are to be held here at 3 p.m. Friday for T-4 Paul Skelton, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Frank Skelton. Skelton, born in McKinney April 17, 1926, was one of two victims of an ambush slaying near Nuernburg, Germany, on May 10, 1946. Following graduation from Boyd High school, where his father taught many years, he attended the University of Texas one year, entering the united States Army in July, 1941. After training at Fort Bliss, Camp Maxey at Paris and Fort Meade, Md., he went overseas in March, 1945, and was assigned to the Third Armored Infantry Division. He was in combat the last four weeks of the war. In January, 1946, he was transferred to the headquarters of the Army newspaper, Stars and Stripes, moving near Nuernburg about a month prior to his death. Besides his parents he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Oliver Kite and Mrs. James Wilcox, both of Dallas; two brothers, Max Skelton with Associated Press in Houston and Thomas Skelton of Pomona, Calif. Following services, burial will be in Pecan Grove Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the 1943 graduating class of Boyd High School here.
