The Dallas Morning News, Dalas, Texas, Saturday, May 29, 1993:Rites today for George W. Apple Jr. Services for Dr. George W. Apple Jr., a Plano physician and 30-year athletic team doctor for Plano Senior High School, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Plano. Dr. Apple, 69, died of complications from diabetes Wednesday at his Plano home. The McKinney native received a medical degree from the University of Texas at Galveston in 1950 and opened his family practice in Plano in 1951. In addition to his practice, he made regular hospital rounds and performed more than 50 house calls a week until his semiretirement in 1989. Survivors include his wife, Addie Bob Apple of Plano; three daughters, Penny Trosper and Nancy Apple, both of McKinney, and Ginny Apple of Enfield, Conn.; a son, George W. Apple III of McKinney; and two grandchildren.
