Penrod, a winter visitor from Kansas City, Mo., died Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Mission Municipal Hospital. There were no local services. The body was sent to San Antonio for cremation. Services will be held later in Kansas City, Mo. Kreidler Funeral Home of McAllen was in charge of local arrangements.
A native of Cape [Girardeau] County, Mo., Mr. Penrod had been a security officer with the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City. He was past master of Cecile Daylight Lodge 305, A.F. & A.M., and was a member of Scottish Rite and Ararat Shrine Temple of Kansas City.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Marian Penrod, two daughters, Mrs. Ruby H. Smothers of Kansas City and Mrs. Cordelia L. Hosch of Rialto, Calif., two sons, George L. Penrod of Portland, Ore., and John G. Penrod of Scio, Ore., one sister, Mrs. Marcella Proffer of Whitewater, Mo.; five brothers, Russell Penrod of Whitewater, Tony Penrod of Hobe Sound, Fla., Everett Penrod of Cobden, Ill., Truman Penrod of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Donald Penrod of Hinsdale, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren.
