Ruth Love

Ruth McNeal, 95, of Central City, formerly of Gothenburg, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at Litzenberg Memorial Hospital Long Term, Central City. The service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, (today), at Blase Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, with Pastor Larry Milliken, officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery. She was born Dec. 21, 1905, near Cozad to William and Alma (Andersen) Love. She graduated in 1926 from Cozad High School. She married Warren McNeal in March 1930. They rented a farm four miles east of Gothenburg and lived there 13 years until they bought their own farm, eight miles southwest of Gothenburg where they lived until he preceded her in death on March 4, 1987. She moved to an apartment in Fort Collins, Co., to be near her daughter. Later, she moved in with her daughter. As her health declined, she moved to a nursing home in Kansas city where her granddaughter could watch over her care. In April 2000, she moved to the Long Term Care at Litzenberg Hospital to be near her son, Harvey and Lola.
McNeal had been a member of Seventh-day Adventist church since 1943. She enjoyed all the activities of the church and according to the family was a devoted homemaker. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett and Howard; four sisters, twin sister Gladys, Icel, Marjorie and Vivian. Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie (Melvin Seek of Fort Collins; two sons, Harvey (Lola) McNeal of Clarks and Ronald (Beverly) McNeal of Omaha; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
