Posted at findagrave.com: Mary Kathryn "Kathy" Kirkpatrick Markey, 73, died April 6, 2010. Ms. Markey was born November 19, 1936 in Diehlstadt, MO. She was a retired Memphis City School teacher and active member of Bartlett United Methodist Church. An active member of the Fun Club, she traveled across the country and the globe. Kathy also served as the Assistant Livestock Director for the Mid-South Fair for almost 30 years. She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Clark (Bobby), Ann McDonald (David), Nancy Miller (Mark) and Marilyn Swift; nine grandchildren; a brother, Richard Kirkpatrick of Charleston, MO and her sister, Frances Anderssen of Leopold, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Marjorie Kirkpatrick and her husband, CDR Alden C. Markey. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Bartlett Event Center, located next door across parking lot from Bartlett Funeral Home going West. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 10 at Bartlett United Methodist Church Chapel. Burial in Memory Hill Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Bartlett United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society .
