Lexington Herald, Lexington, Kentucky, Sunday, July 20, 1980, Page 32: Mrs. Lula Deaton Moore, 76, wife of Decoursey Moore, of 703 Wilderness Road, died at 10:30 Friday. A native of Canoe, Ky., and the daughter of the late Joe and Maggie Sebastian Deaton, she was educated in the Breathitt County Schools, Berea College, Eastern Kentucky University, and taught in Breathitt County for a number of years. For over 11 years she served as the secretary to the Superintendent of the Breathitt County Schools. She was a member of the Pan Bowl Chapter of the Order of the Easter Star. She had been a resident of Lexington for the past 37 years. Besides her husband she is survived by an aunt, Lizzie D. Moore, Jackson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home by the Rev. Wayne B. Smith. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery. Bearers will be William Hicks, Roscoe Sebastian, Jr., James and Ray Moore, Thomas Anderson, and Hoyett Vanover. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Charles G. Grigsby, Vernon Rigney, Dr. Edgar McGee, Dr. Joseph H. Saunders, Dr. John H. Prewitt, Carl Allen, Roland Blakeman, Curtis Sebastian, Herman Faulkner, Dr. J. R. Greene, Sam Moore, John Hollon, and Dr. Martin P. Kaplan. Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-90 pm. at the funeral home today.
