Anna Marie Tholen

Mrs. Anna Marie Lakamp, widow of Gust Lakamp, passed away at Passavant hospital at 3:45 p.m. Friday. She had been a patient at the hospital for three days, but had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Lakamp resided west of Chapin. Mrs. Lakamp was born in Morgan county on July 25, 1875, the daughter of Enoch and Eliza Middendorf Tholen. She married Gust Lakamp Sept. 5, 1894. He preceded her in death April 15, 1957.
Survivors include eight children, Fred Lakamp of Jacksonville, Elmer Lakamp at home, Miss Freda Lakamp of Hillsboro, Edwin Lakamp of Jacksonville, Clarence Lakamp of Chapin, Miss Katherine Lakamp at home, Herman Lakamp of Chapin and Mrs. Mamie Deuner of Chapin. A brother, Fred Tholen of Arenzville; a sister, Mrs. Emma West of Caseyville, Ill.; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive. Her parents and three sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lakamp was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, west of Chapin. Rev. Marvin Matzke will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Cemetery. The remains are at the Williamson funeral home.
