John "Jack" Renick Madeira

The Times-Picayune, New Orleans, Louisiana, Saturday, January 24, 1998: John Renick "Jack" Madeira Sr., a neon sign salesman, died Jan. 15 of cancer at his home. He was 77. Mr. Madeira was born in Lexington, Ky., and lived in Metairie for the past 40 years. He was a former technical sergeant in the Army and Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Mildred "Mickie" Ridlen Madeira; a son, John Renick Madeira Jr. of Marietta, Ga.; and two grandchildren. A memorial service was held Jan. 17 at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home in Metairie. Burial was private.
