September 24th, 1927~July 17th, 2010. Allen D. Edwards "Eddy" passed away July 17th, 2010 at the age of 82, due to multiple health complications. He was born to Thomas and Alice Edwards in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina on September 24th, 1927. Eddy joined the Navy in 1945 and served on both the U.S.S. Oklahoma City and the Shangri-La during WWII. After the war, he decommissioned naval ships in San Francisco before being honorably discharged and moving to Vancouver, WA where he met his wife Loa Jeanne Edwards. He worked as a guard and machinist at the VA hospital before landing his dream job in vehicle maintenance at the Bonneville Power Administration. Eddy eventually retired from BPA holding the title of Vehicle Maintenance Superintendent in 1979 after thirty-one years in Civil Service. He enjoyed playing and listening to Country music, watching baseball, fishing on his boat, visiting Seaside, Oregon, and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years; and his younger brother; Billy. He is survived by three sons: Mike (Barb), Pat (Bev), and Tom (Karla); nine grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.
