Robert Harold Leever

Posted at findagrave.com: Defiance-- Robert H. Leever, 74, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1986, in Cape Coral, Fla. Born in Defiance Aug. 29, 1912, he was the son of Ruth (Carpenter) and Ray Leever. He was the founder and owner of Leever Glass in Defiance and Bryan before retiring in 1964. Mr. Leever was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Defiance; a past master of Omega Lodge #564; a past high priest of Encawoesa #86, Royal Arch Masons; past commander of Defiance Commandry #30; a member of the Knights of York Cross of Honor; and a past patron of the Defiance Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star #321. In 1935 he was married to Madge Kirkpatrick, and she survives. Also surviving are a son, Bill of RFD 1, Defiance; a daughter, Betty Strolle of Defiance; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roger of California and Ralph of Pennsylvania; and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Shreve of Hicksville and Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Cooper of Jacksonville, Fla. Preceding him in death were a granddaughter; and a sister, Pauline White. Services were to have been conducted at 1 p.m. today at the Mast & Mock Funeral Home, Defiance, with the Rev. Roland Fierce officiating. Burial was to have been in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance. Preferred memorials are to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or Defiance Cancer Care.
