SESSER -- Maxine Kirkpatrick , 71, went home to glory to be with precious Jesus at 12:07 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser, with Brother Tim Melvin officiating. Burial will be in the Horse Prairie Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004, at the funeral home. She was born May 10, 1933, in Valier, to Jake Shepard and Goldia Richards. She married Wayman Kirkpatrick and he preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1983. She supported the Wings of Healing Ministry in Montebello, Calif. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Kirkpatrick is survived by her children, Edward L. Kirkpatrick and wife Becky of Mulkeytown, Joyce E. Kirkpatrick of Sesser, Gay L. Kirkpatrick of Steger; two grandchildren, Eddie Kirkpatrick and wife Cara of Boliver, Mo., and Ben Kirkpatrick of Mulkeytwon; and sisters, Wilma Morris of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Betty Buerkle of Du Quoin; and several nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
