Services for Mrs. Viola Moore Aycock, former school teacher, who died at her home at Woodland at 8:30 pm, Saturday, March 21, were conducted from the Woodland Baptist Church Tuesday at 2 pm. She was 70 and had been in ill health for about four years. The Rev. Joe L Jolly, Sr., officiated. Burial was in the Palestine Cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were: Leslie, Malcolm and Elliott Webber, Wilford Robertson, Marvin Hill and Sherman Naron. Mrs. Aycock was a member of the Woodland Baptist Church. She was a member of the Woodland O E S. She was born in Chickasaw county on Feb. 8, 1889, the daughter of the late Thomas A Moore and Ella Ross Wilkerson Moore. She leaves her husband, James Ethel Aycock of Woodland; three sons, James Rupert of Ft. Worth, Tex., Charles Lee of Columbus, Miss., and Thomas Clifton of Shelbyville, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. Ford Wilson of Saverna Park, Md.; three brothers, S C Moore of Houston, Floyd E Moore of Woodland, and Paul E Moore of New Albany; four sisters, Mrs. Fannie Millsaps of Woodland, Mrs. Pauline Kilgore of Houston, Mrs. Johnnie Springer of Calhoun City and Mrs. Birdie Harris of New Albany. Nine grandchildren also survive.
