The Telegraph, Alton, Illinois, Tuesday, November 10, 2015: Alton----Donnie Mae Ham, 92, of Alton, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Donnie's biggest joy was welcoming family and friends to her home and table. She was a great listener and made everyone feel special. She enjoyed gardening and flowers with her favorite color being pink. She was born in Limestone, Ark, Sept. 26, 1923, the daughter of the late George W. and Lou (Adams) Gillean. She married Aden E. Ham in Poplar Bluff, Mo., on Feb. 14, 1946, and he preceded her in death on April 6, 2008. She is survived by three sons and their wives, Tony E. and Patty Ham of Midland, Texas, Allen Dean Ham of Athens, Ill., and Rickie L. and Rita Ham of Decatur, Ill.; five grandchildren, Stephen M. and Amy Ham, Rachelle K. and Chris Sumrall, Daniel P. Ham, Adam E. Ham, and Matthew J. Ham; several great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Fern Gillean and Leola Ham, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by; three sisters, Hazel Price, Bertha Gillean and Martha Skalsky; two brothers Simon and Willard Gillean. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, Ill. Funeral procession to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bethalto, Ill., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will take place in Rose Lawn Cemetery. Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home of Alton is in charge of arrangements.
