David Allen Hamblin

David Allen Hamblin, retired farmer who resided in Houston, died at 7 am, Saturday, March 5 1977, at the Houston Hospital. He was 69. Funeral services were conducted from the Houston Funeral Home Chapel at 3:30 pm, Sunday, March 7. Rev. Giles Hester officiated at the services. Burial was in the Houston Cemetery. Pallbearers were Turner Clark, James Long, Tommy Jennings, W C Crump, David Carter, and A L Estes. Mr. Hamblin was born in Pontotoc County on April 19 1907, the son of Jesse M Hamblin and Mary Stafford Hamblin. He was a member of the Sounty Jackson St. Church of Christ and a Mason. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Clark Hamblin, Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Vance Fayetteville, North Carolina and Mrs. Lois Jeanette Clark, Pekin, Illinois; two brothers, Lloyd Hamblin, Okolona, and Fletcher Hamblin, Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. Ester Sanderson, Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
