Alton Telegraph, Alton, Illinois, Tuesday, November 6, 2007, Page 5, Col. 2: Alton---Bobby "Bob" Hosfelt Sr., 76, died at 2:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 at his home. He was born Nov. 23, 1930, in Rombauer, Mo., to the late Clyde and Nora (Ham) Hosfelt. He married the former Pansy Dalton on Jan. 12, 1952, in Pocahontas, Ark. He worked in the wire mill at Laclede steel Co. for 28 years. He attended Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Bethalto. He had a true love for the outdoors and working outside in his back yard. he had gardens of many flowers and trees and it had often been said by many that he had the best tomatoes around. He won many years of Pride awards. He is survived by a son, Bobby Hosfelt Jr. of Dorsey; three grandchildren, Bobby Gene Hosfelt of East Alton, Brandi Cherry of Brighton and Brian Landson of Michigan, two sisters, Ellen Inman of Mena, Ark., and Sylvia Hosfelt of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and many neicees, nephews cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen D. Hosfelt, who died 13 years ago on Nov. 3, 1994; two brothers, Virgil and Vernon; four sisters, Wanda, Shirley, Naomi and Kathleen; and his special little poodle that he loved very much. "Rontae." Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Revs. Phil Schneider and Dave Buesinger will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital for Children or Cornerstone Assembly of God Church.
