Mrs. Sylvia Lenora Brookman of 232 east North street in Knoxville, Ill., died at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in that city at the age of 87 years, eight months, and 28 days. She was a former resident of Mt. Vernon. The body has been brought to Myers Chapel. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Mrs. Brookman was born June 21, 1880, in Jefferson county, the daughter of Sylvanus and Matilda (Davis) Foster. On Feb. 22, 18998, Jefferson county, she was married to Zimri Brookman, who preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1940. She was also preceded in death by two daughters and a son. She is survived by five sons, Marshall Brookman of Mt. Vernon, John Brookman of Decatur, Luther Brookman of Assumption Ill., Sylvanus (Bud) Brookman of Lexington, Ky, and William Brookman of Sparland, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Maynard of Port Chicago, Calif.; 33 grandchildren, and 79 great-grandchildren.
