The Steamboat Pilot, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Wednesday, February 25, 1920, Page 3, Col. 6: Carl La Bounty Is Dead. After making a heroic fight against flu for the past week, Carl LaBounty succumbed to the dread disease early Wednesday morning, says the Yampa Leader. Deceased was the son of Mrs. Jerry Reams and came to Yampa with Mr. and Mrs. Reams about 10 years ago. He was married to Miss Maud Hight and for a number of years they had made their home on a ranch near Yampa. Since selling their ranch they have been living at the Herb Moore ranch. Mrs. LaBounty was taken down shortly after her husband and for the past few days has been very low. Carl LaBounty was a splendid young man, clean, honest and industrious and by his sterling worth winning the respect of all who knew him. Besides his parents and wife he leaves a sister, Mrs. Roy Weyand of Craig, to mourn his loss.
Routt County Sentinel, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, February 18, 1921: In Memoriam. In loving memory of Carl F. LaBounty, who passed away Feb. 18, 1920, one year ago today.
