Dallas Morning News, Dallas, Texas, Sunday, April 12, 1931, Section 1, Page 5: Tulsa World's Editor, Thomas A. Latta, Dies. Tulsa, Ok. April 11 (UP)--Thomas A. Latta, 59, for fifteen years editor of the Tulsa World, died here early Saturday of pneumonia. Latta was one of the pioneer journalists of the State, having founded a number of newspapers, among them the Bartlesville Enterprise, the second daily publication in the Indian Territory to use Associated Press reports. He became editor of the World in 1907, but left in 1912 to become editor of the Oil and Gas Journal, published here. Later he had interests in the Bartlesville Examiner, and the Oklahoma City Times. Nine years ago, when the Times was taken over by the Oklahoman, he returned to the World as editor in chief. His wife and nine children survive.
