Posted at findagrave.com: Marilyn R. Messner, 84, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the Presbyterian Health Care Unit in Arkansas City. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the Rindt-Erdman Chapel. Friends may greet the family 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Marilyn was born March 26, 1934, to Royal and Gladys (Ash) Clason in Ashton, KS. She was reared and educated around Ashton and South Haven attending rural schools. She graduated from South Haven High School in 1952. On April 28, 1953, she married Earl Wayne Messner in Newkirk, OK. The couple made their home in Ashton, KS. Marilyn and Earl owned and operated Messner Oil Company for many years.

Survivors include her daughters Vicki Givens and husband Dan; Dianna Gibson and husband Jimmy all of Arkansas City, KS; sister Carol White of Wellington, KS; grandchildren Zack Wilson, Brooke Smith, Zabrina Wilson, David Givens, Zeb Troutman, Zeke Wilson; great-grandchildren Hannah Wilson, Cooper Wilson, Carter Smith, Damon Smith, Grant Givens, Jayce Wilson, Brody Wilson, Ellie Wilson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Earl.

A memorial has been established for the Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor or Alzheimer’s and Similar Diseases. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home and Crematory.
