Hugh S. Egger

Posted at findagrave.com: Hugh married Mary Colvin, daughter of Nicholas & Susannah (Elam) Colvin, on Dec. 23, 1823, in Chester Co. SC. They came to Miss. in January 1824.
Their children were: Green Berry Egger- married Annie Egger,
James Monroe Egger- married Mary Emily Morris,
John Talton Egger- married Mary Stewart
Elizabeth C. Egger- married John Stewart
Andrew Jackson Egger- unmarried
Susan Araminta Egger- married Lafayette Stewart, and after his death, she married Henry Massey.
3 of Hugh's sons died during the war- Green Berry, James Monroe, & Andrew Jackson.
John Talton fought in a Texas Regiment and he survived the war.
Hugh married Rebecca Kirkpatrick on July 5, 1853. Mary, his first wife, died in 1852.
Hugh was a farmer. His parents were James & Esther (Johbsey) Egger. His siblings were: Elizabeth, Mary, Andrew, Jane, James, John Ramsey.
On the 1860 Agricultural Census, Hugh had 60 acres of improved land, 100 acres of unimproved, the cash value of his farm was $1600, value of farm implements was $100, and the livestock was worth $700.00.
