Van Ourkerk, 71, of 11769 Holmes Ave., Mira Loma, died yesterday afternoon at the Loma Linda Sanitarium and Hospital. Railroad Inspector. He was born Jan. 10, 1886, in Oostburg, Wis. For many years he was an inspector for the Chicago and North Western Railroad, retiring in 1951. H was a member of Battle Ridge Lodge Number 92, F and AM, in Hermosa, S.D. Following his retirement, he and his wife, who survives him, moved to Los Angeles. The couple moved to Mira Loma in May of 1954. In addition to his widow, Katherine, Mr. Van Ourkerk leaves one son, Carroll, of Los Angeles, a daughter, Mrs. Mary Reynolds of Torrance; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Mr. Stella Bryant of San Diego and Mrs. Pearl Dietrich of Larson, Wis. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bell-Thomas Mortuary with Temescal Lodge Number 314, F and AM, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunnyslope Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. tomorrow.
