Alvin August Schaffer

Posted at findagrave.com: Alvin August Schaffer was born to August Schaffer and Rosina Schmidtgall in Alpena, Jerauld, SD on 30 Nov 1914. Alvin married 1 Sept 1937 in Custer, Custer Co, SD to Alice Adele Clason. She had just turned 15 and he was 22. After their marriage they lived in Hot Springs, Fall River, SD. He was working road construction in 1940. Alvin enlisted in the Corp of Engineers while living in SD on 10 Feb 1941. He served in the National Guard also. Alvin died aged 33 in Pacific Grove, Monterey, CA on 13 Nov 1948, just 17 days before his 34th birthday. Alice remarried after his death but was listed as Clason on her death certificate in Oregon in 1988. Alvin and Alice had three children.
