Laura Helen Younger

(1 Jan 1832 - 25 Dec 1924)

Kansas City Star, Kansas City, Missouri, Sunday, January 4, 1925, Page 15: Cole Younger's Sister. The death of Mrs. Laura H. Kelley, which occurred at her home near Amoret, Western Bales County, on Christmas day, removes one of the pioneer citizens of border days. Mrs. Kelly was the only living sister and member of the famous Younger family, which, with the James boys, attracted much attention in this section after the Civil War. She was born in Westport Landing*, January 1, 1832, making her almost 93 years old. For fifty-five years she had been a resident of Bates County. Her husband, William Kelly, was a prominent farmer and died a few years ago. The death of Mrs. Kelly removes all of the Younger family.

*Westport Landing is part of Kansas City, Missouri. It was an independent city annexed by Kansas City in 1897.
