Nancy Jane Kirkpatrick

(1826 - 15 Feb 1908)

Nancy Kirkpatrick, the next-to-the-youngest child of John Kirkpatrick's sixteen children was born circa 1826, probably in Sangamon County, Illinois. She married 5 September 1844 in Wapello County, Iowa, to William F. Bay who was born circa 1821 in Ohio. They were living in 1850 in Wapello County, but probably later moved to Oregon.

Nancy and William had two children.

William and Nancy (Kirkpatrick) Bay crossed the plains in the year 1852 and settled at Elk Prairie on the Umpqua river where they continued to live until 1862 when they were compelled on account of the great floods to remove from their early Oregon home to Smith River where they continued to live until the death of William (1876).
