James "Jim" Arthur Roy

Jim was born in Milwaukee to Eleanor (Mattick) and Frank Roy. Jim worked for Engines Inc, the family business. In 1978 Jim purchased part of that business and had a successful twenty year career running Engines Store 6161 with his wife, Gwen. He served as president of the Wisconsin Automotive Wholesalers Association. Jim and Gwen (Dolphin) were married in Las Vegas on October 5, 1969. They had a wonderful marriage, and worked side by side to expand the business and enjoy life. They traveled to Hawaii and Las Vegas many times as well as Monaco, Alaska, Aruba, and the Panama Canal. After Gwen died in 1997, Jim moved to Las Vegas, where he lived until his death. Jim is survived by his sister Nancy Roy and her children, Jamian, Molly, and Jonathan (Colorado); his brother John Roy and wife Jean (Milwaukee); his aunt Betty Jane Schreiber and her children (Texas); cousins Karen Ann (Bob) Benz and children (Wauwatosa), and Mary Lynn Mattick (Wauwatosa); close friends and 'adopted' family members Del and Joan Behling (Racine), Brad Behling and daughters Rachael and Arielle (Las Vegas), and Jay Benedict Brown (Colorado). Jimmy's passing leaves behind Gwen's children from a prior marriage Timothy (Allison) Dittmann (Santa Barbara), Thomas Dittmann (Los Angeles), and Wendy Dittmann (Bill Porter) (Menomonie, WI) and grandchildren, Bridget (Coburn) Watson, Laura (Ross) Fyfe and Mette and Bo Dittmann. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Jim was a ten year cancer survivor. All of those who knew Jimmy will always remember his storytelling and great sense of humor, his loving and joyful devotion to Gwen, and his ability to fully embrace whatever life gave him and make good of it. He was one of a kind. As he often said, "I had a good one."
