The Morning Oregonian, Saturday, August 24, 1935, Page 9, Col. 3: Coulee Dam Driller Crushed by Boulder. Grand Coulee Dam, Wash., Aug. 23 (AP) His head crushed by a falling boulder, Arthur J. Autrey, 49, of Spokane, a jack hammer operator, died in the Mason City hospital today. Autrey, who started work only 3 days ago, was drilling granite when the boulder fell. Autrey is the 15th workman to be killed since the dam was started.
