Charles Joseph Coulter

The Daily Oklahoman, December 10, 1993, Page: 35: Coulter, Charles Joseph (Charley), 72, of Del City, died Wednesday, December 8, 1993 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 25, 1921 in Wanette, Ok. and graduated from Wanette High School in 1940. Captain of his basketball team his junior and senior year, winning All District in 1939 and 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Gertrude Coulter. Graduated from University of Oklahoma in 1950 with a degree in Biology and Physical Education. Served in the Air Force Corps in Radio Communications and spent 27 months in New Guinea and Australia. He worked for the Okla. State Dept. of Health from 1952-1985 as an Environmental Specialist and Supervisor of Consumer Protection. Survivors: wife of 49 years, Evelyn (Kirkpatrick) Coulter; son, Guy Coulter and his wife, Peggy of Midwest City; son, Ronald Coulter of Del City; daughter, Deborah Miller and husband, Robert of Oklahoma City; one sister, Beatrice Morris of Pauls Valley. Grandchildren include Theresa Coulter of Midwest City, Jason, Nathan and Hayley Miller of Okla. City. Founder and past president 1958-1985 of the 8th Fighter Control Foxhole Squadron. Known to all as "Mr. Cameraman", and his keen sense of humor and devotion and love he bestowed on his family and friends. A special thanks to Dr. Maril Weber, and to the Doctors and CCU Staff at Norman Regional Hospital. Services will be held Friday, December 10, 1993, 2:00 p.m. at Bill Eisenhour SE Chapel, followed by interment at Wanette Cemetery, officiated by Father Paul Mollan. Memorial donations may be made to the OKC Chapter for Autistic Citizens, P.O. Box 890963, OKC 73189.
