This memorial provided by Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, Hot Springs, Arkansas: Maxine Cowan, 83, of Hot Springs, entered peace and rest with the Lord on May 19, 2014. She was born Feb. 15, 1931, in Wewoka, Okla, to Christopher and Lillie Mae (Ritchie) Earnest. She was a Godly woman who served Him and His church for years as a pianist and Sunday school teacher. She was a caring mother, serving wife and proud grandmother who loved being called Mimi. Maxine was a talented musician having played and taught piano for several years, and an excellent cook who made desserts as beautiful as they were delicious. She is preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Rev. Milam Cowan. Maxine is survived by her son, Reggie Cowan (DiAnna), of Hot Springs; her daughter, Debbie Bennett (Wayne), of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Aubree Impson (Chris), Sarah Miller (Zach), Kathryn Bennett, Matthew and Heath Kessinger; and four great-grandchildren, Tristan and Colby Impson, Wyatt Kessinger and Bennett Miller. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home in Hot Springs. Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Village Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Edds and W.A. Dillard officiating, along with Lynn Reeves of The Caring Place. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers include Leon Barlow, Glen Cockrell, James Lunsford, Dale Lott, Clyde Edds, Brent Cowan, Carlon Cowan and Ron Payne. Living Angels, Lynn Reeves, Dian Masingill, Jayne Vigil, Dee Davies, Danielle Whitney from The Caring Place. Her caregiver of five years, Irene Sorensen.
