The funeral was held Friday, Jan. 20, 1995, in Pacific View Memorial Chapel in Lincoln City. Mr. Lewis died Jan. 18 in his Lincoln City home at age 86. Born March 30, 1908, in Topeka, Kan., he moved in the late 1930s to Portland, where he worked for Diamond Fuel and in the Portland and Vancouver shipyards. He retired and moved to Lincoln City in 1975. Mr. Lewis married Gertrude Hayes on July 3, 1958. He is survived by his wife; stepdaughter, Susan Wall of Gaston; brother, Harold of Tillamook and Gene of Maryland; sisters, Leah Randall of Nebraska, Lenore Barkley of Washington state, Ruth Nelson of Newport, Peg McMury of Portland and Esther Bernhardt of Sandy; and two grandchildren.
