Born in Chase City, Va., he came to the area in 1959 from Thomasville, N.C. He worked for GTE and was a member of American Legion Post 0400 and the VFW in Summerfield. He was a Korean War Army veteran. Survivors include two sons, Ross, St. Petersburg, and Steve, York, Pa.; and a brother, Rufus, Lilburn, Ga. Beach Memorial Chapel, St. Pete Beach.
