The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Monday, December 24, 1956, Page 28, Col. 1: Mrs. Frieda Phelps, 65, of 2925 N. Murray av., an officer of a sign firm, died Sunday at Columbia hospital. She had been ill three weeks. Mrs. Phelps was born here. She was secretary of the Big Four Sign Co., 916 N. Edison st., a firm headed by her husband, Vernon J. Mrs. Phelps was a member of the Fourth Church of Christ Scientist. Surviving besides the husband are a son, Vernon A., Ann Arbor, Mich; two daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Smith, Grand Prairie, Tex., and Mrs. Ethel Arentsen, Sheboygan, and a bother, George Anders, Milwaukee. Services will be at the Fass funeral home, 3601 N. Oakland av., Shorewood, at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Burial plans were not complete Monday. The body will be at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
