(15 Sep 1931 - 16 May 2009)

Statesman Journal, Salem, Oregon, May 19, 2009: Clason, Irene. Irene was born to Franklin and Edith Rogers and has lived all her life in the Santiam Canyon. Irene was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Mill City and was past president. She was also a member of the South Salem Seniors. Irene loved her computer, spending many hours communicating with her family and friends via instant messenger. She loved emails and forwarded almost every one of them. Irene enjoyed knitting, crocheting, listening to music, bingo and socializing with her many friends at South View Terrace. She married Ivan Clason on April 10, 1948 in Mehama and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2001. Irene is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Mitch and Deb Clason of Salem, and Glen and Tammy Clason of Keizer; daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Warron Bainbridge of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers, Ted Rogers of West Stayton and Dick Rogers of Longview, Wash.; sister, Leona Runions of Mehama; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren on the way. She was preceded in death by brothers, Glen and Bob. Knowing that Irene was so excited about meeting God and being reunited with Ivan and all her loved ones gives her family peace. We will all be looking forward to the time we can see her again.
