Hannah was the daughter of James Elbridge Gray and Sarah Olivia Britton. She married John Elias Sparks March 18, 1896, in Correctionville, Iowa. To them were born two sons, Orray and Ralph Earl. After the marriage ended she married Joseph Philman Beason December 28, 1903, and had six more children: Florence, Walter, Ralph, Merritt, Clifford Joseph and Leila.
The Correctionville News, 22 April 1943, page 1: Mrs. Hannah Isabelle Beason passed away at her farm home near Akron, Iowa, Tuesday of last week. She was born at Atlantic, Iowa, August 31, 1878, but lived in this community the greater part of her life until fifteen years ago when the family moved to Akron. Funeral was held Friday from the Baptist Church at Akron with Rev. J. Olin Kennel officiating. She was buried in Riverside Cemetery there. Surviving are the widower Joseph, a daughter, Mrs. Homer Jacoby of Akron and four sons, Walter of Akron, Ralph of Minneapolis, Clifford of Correctionville and Orria in Texas with the Army.
