Thomas Hannah, Longtime Auto Dealer, Dies. Thomas W. Hannah, 92, former Fairfield auto dealer, died at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a patient the past three weeks. Last rites will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Hang officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Thomas W. Hannah was born March 22, 1879, in Jefferson County near Packwood. He was the son of Elias and Sarah Greeson Hannah. He was reared and educated in Jefferson County and attended the Pleasant Plain Academy, and taught school for two years. He was married to Effie B. Allerdice Feb. 1, 1900, in Pleasant Plain. She died Feb. 24, 1938. After living on a farm ten years they moved to Fairfield where he served as county clerk. He later was engaged in the automobile business for a number of years, and served as state weight officer until his final retirement. He was a life member of BPO Elks, and a member of the Fairfield Lions Club. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dan Nelson, Clinton; two sons, Robert, Phoenix, Ariz., and Charles, Fairfield; ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother.
