Byron Ward Webb, 98, of Ceres died Wednesday at Colony Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Webb was a native of Fordyce, Ark., and lived in Ceres 27 years. He was a maintenance worker for Los Gatos Community Hospital for six years. He also was a peach grower and poultry rancher for many years. He is survived by his children, Murle Webb of Modesto, Dale Webb of Salinas and Alfreda Gunn of Patterson; brother, Barney Webb of Oregon; sisters, Coralee Tackett of Modesto and Sammie Atwell of Nevada; and eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs. Burial will be at Ceres Memorial Park. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
