Cathey, 78, a member of a pioneer Oregon family , will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow in the Arthur A. Wright & Son chapel. Burial will be in Washelli. Mr. Cathey, formerly active in musical circles many years, died yesterday at his home, 115 W. Bertona St. He was a retired teamster and maintenance engineer. Mr. Cathey was born April 15, 1876 in Gresham, Ore., the son of George and Thursy Graham, pioneer homesteaders who traveled to the Willamette Valley in a covered wagon across the Oregon Trail. He moved to Seattle from Gresham in 1898. Mr. Cathey was a member of the First Free Methodist Church and formerly directed its choir many years. He was choir director at Seattle Pacific College from about 1915 to 1925. Surviving are his wife, Gladys; two sons, William C. Cathey, Seattle and Pvt. Robert L. Cathey Ford Ord, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs Wesley F. Graham, Seattle; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Jones, Gresham and three grandchildren.
