The Dalles Chronicle, The Dalles, Oregon, October 10, 2010: Robert B. 'Bert' Clason, 86, a resident of The Dalles died at the Oregon Veterans Home Oct. 7, 2010. He was born Sept. 17, 1924, in Wilder, Idaho, to George and Flora Agnes (Wittle) Clason. He was raised and educated in Idaho, graduating from Wilder High School. During World War II he served in The U. S. Navy. On June 30, 1949 he and Wanda Caler were married in Caldwell, Idaho. They moved to LaGrande in 1959 and then to The Dalles in 1966. He worked as a meat cutter most of his life, working for several local grocery stores and retiring from Rosauers in Hood River in 1989. He was a member of the New Life United Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed reading Westerns. He is survived by his wife, Wanda of 61 years; his sons, Clifton Clason and wife Anita, The Dalles; and Ron Clason, Columbus, Ohio; daughter in-law Tamara Clason, Bethesda, Ohio; and his three grandchildren, Robert and Tracy Clason and Lisa Carol Krieter. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Terry and Timothy Clason, brother Harvey Clason and sister Delyte Simmons. Viewing will be Monday, Oct. 11, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. at IOOF Cemetery (Threemile) followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at the New Life United Pentecostal Church with Pastor J. D. Borders officiating. Arrangements by Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Dalles Civic Auditorium or the Oregon Veterans Home.
