Commerce Journal, Commerce, Texas, Thursday, November 5, 1970, Page 3, Col. 3: Rites Held Tuesday For Benton Reneau. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday for Benton G. Reneau, Wolfe city, in the Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Renfro and the Rev. Jack Meyers officiating. Mr. Reneau died Sunday in a Commerce hospital following a long illness. Pallbearers were Hershall Moore, Bobby G. Maples, Russell Reneau, Kenneth Smith, Jack Copland and Maurice Graham. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery. He was born Aug. 23, 1891 in Floyd, son of James Barton and Sythia Moore Reneau. He married Willie Amelia Lynn Surratt in 1913 and they were the parents of six children. Mrs. Reneau preceded him in death in 1933. He married Bera Aycock of Farmersville in 1946. He is survived by his widow, four sons, Dwight of Greenville, B. G. of Dallas, Bill of Texarkansa, and Weldon of Garland; two daughters, Mrs. Mackie Lee Maples of Wolfe City, and Mrs. Wilma Graham of Dallas; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mattie Reneau of Caddo Mills and Hettie Commons of Dallas.
