Hosier, 67, of 62 Emeline street, died yesterday at a local hospital following a long illness. He was a painter and paperhanger for a number of years and later went into the redwood burl business, and also sold ferns and rustic materials. He retired from active business in 1942 because of ill health. At one time he was manager of the Santa Cruz Padres baseball team. He was a member of the Moose lodge for a number of years. Mrs. Ida E. Hosier, his wife, died in 1929. Following her death, his cousin, Grace M. Stewart, kept house for Mr. Hosier and his children. Surviving are the following children: Abram and Eugene Hosier of Santa Cruz, Margaret Phillips, Albert and Dorothy Hosier of San Francisco. There are 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services are pending at the Wessendorf mortuary.
