KIRKPATRICK, Marjorie Savage, 89, died Tues., Dec. 7, 2004 in Atlanta, GA. She was born in Wilmore, graduated from Sayre School, attended Asbury College and graduated from Wesleyan College, Macon, GA. She was married to Dr. Dow N. Kirkpatrick, a Methodist minister, for 66 years prior to his death in March, 2004. They served Methodist Churches in Young Harris, Athens, and Atlanta, GA; Evanston, IL and later served from 1975 until they retired in 1987 as missionaries in Latin America. Mrs. Kirkpatrick is survived by two sons, Dow N. Kirkpatrick II, Atlanta, GA and David E. Kirkpatrick, Birmingham, AL, six grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a brother, William E. Savage of Lexington. A memorial service for Marjorie and Dow will be held 10 am Tues., Dec. 28 at Estes Chapel, Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, with burial following at the Wilmore Cemetery. Marjorie Savage Kirkpatrick, died Wednesday, at the age of 89. She was born in Kentucky and attended Asbury College. There she met and married Dr. Dow Kirkpatrick, a Methodist minister. They were married for 66 years prior to Dr. Kirkpatrick's death in March of this year. They served Methodist churches in Young Harris, Athens, and Atlanta, Georgia, Evenston, Illinois, and later served from 1975, until they retired in 1987, as missionaries in Latin America. The ashes of Dow and Marjorie Kirkpatrick will be buried together at a graveside service in the cemetery next to the campus of Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky, where they met some seventy years ago. Mrs. Kirkpatrick is survived by two sons, Dow N. Kirkpatrick, II, of Atlanta, Georgia and David Earl Kirkpatrick, of Birmingham, Alabama; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
