Oakley---Anthony Vieira of Rt. 1 Box 74 was taken to Antioch Community Hospital Oct. 21 and was pronounced dead on arrival at 6:30 p.m. He had been ill for a long time. He was born Dec. 25, 1885 in Portugal and came to San Francisco when a young man. He later settled on Webb Tract to farm, and then moved to a ranch on Shady Lane. He raised grapes and almonds. Mr. Vieira leaves his widow Mary L.; daughters, Miss Isabelle and Miss Margaret and son Tony Vieira, all of Oakley; daughters, Miss Mary Vieira of Los Angeles; Mrs Tillie Delgado of Knightsen and a son Phillip Vieira of the Air Force now stationed in Spokane, Wash. Thirteen grandchildren also survive. Rosary will be recited tonight at 8 o'clock in Higgins Funeral Chapel and mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church in Oakley with the Rev. Paul Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Holy Cross Cemetery.
