Posted at findagrave.com: Bernice H. Howell, 83, Bemidji, died Sunday at the North Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A memorial service is at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery following cremation. Mrs. Howell was born Sept. 30, 1906, at East Grand Forks to Andrew and Katherine Hannah. She came to Bemidji in 1907 and grew up and attended school here. After graduating from Bemidji High School she attended French's Business College. She married Amery Howell Sept. 1, 1934, in Bemidji. She worked for 11 years as a clerk and bookkeeper for George T. Baker Co., and later as a bookkeeper at Beltrami Electric Co-op until her retirement. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and its Women's Association. She is survived by a granddaughter, Susan K. Wieseler of Appleton, Wis., and by a brother, David Hannah of Cottage Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband April, 1982; a daughter, Susan; a granddaughter, Shannon; and three sisters.
