Chillicothe Constitution Tribune, Monday, August 31, 1953, Front Page, Col. 7: Dies While Cutting Weeds Near Ludlow. Orlan Rudolph, 76, Had Not Been Well. S. O. (Orlan) Rudolph, 76, east of Ludlow died suddenly Saturday morning. Mr. Rudolph had been in failing health several years. He had gone out to cut weeds when he failed to return as soon as expected, Mrs. Rudolph called for assistance. Friends and neighbors answered her call. Jackie Silkwood and Virgil Haley found Mr. Rudolph lying face down on the ground. He is survived by his wife, Laura, and one nephew, Gordon R. Hawkins of Ludlow. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Ludlow Methodist church. Burial under direction of the B. F. Mead funeral home of Braymer, will be in the Ludlow cemetery.

Mrs. Iva Mae Balkey returned to her home in North Kansas City after several days' stay with her aunt, Mrs. Laura Rudolph, following the funeral and burial of her uncle, Orlan Rudolph.
