Rush City Press, Rush City, Chisago Co., Minnesota, Friday September 9, 1921: Widow of Civil War Veteran Dies. Mrs. Delilah McClatchy widow of John McClatchy, a veteran of the Civil War, died at Rush City on Friday, Sept. 2, 1921 at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 13 days. Deceased has been a resident of Rush City for a number of years, She was born June 20, 1839 and married the late John McClatchy Sept. 15, 1859 at Lafayette, Wis. Mr. McClatchy served as a private in Co. I, 153 Reg., 111th Inf. of Illinois during the Civil War. The children now living are: Wm. J., Mary E. McBride, Alfred, Minnie and Joseph. Wm., Mary and Minnie, the latter being Mrs. Orvis, all reside at Rush City. Deceased was a member of the Methodist church for 40 years. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Sept. 5, 1921, at 4 p.m. at Rock Creek church, in charge of Director Walter McCarthy, Rev. Orrock of Pine City officiated. The pallbearers were: N. J. Bornhoft, Frank Smith, Geo. Walton, R. J. Vandike, Christ Rasmussen and F. W. Hanson. Interment was at Rock Creek cemetery, beside her husband.
