Clear Lake Mirror Reporter, Clear Lake, Iowa, February 23, 2006: George W. Kraft, 80, of Goldfield, died on Saturday, February 18, 2006, at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 22, at the United Methodist Church in Goldfield. The Rev. Dale Schoening officiated at the 2:00 p.m. service. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. George W. Kraft was born on February 22, 1925 at Jolley, Iowa, the 11th child of Fred and Ida (Schnell) Kraft. He was raised and attended schools in Rockwell City and Manson. George then moved to Vincent and worked on several farms before serving in the United States Navy during World War II. On March 12, 1950, George was united in marriage to Cornelia (Connie) Stearns in Manson. The couple established their home in Goldfield where George hauled milk and made cheese at the Goldfield Creamery. He later worked for Moorman's Feed Company hauling bagged feed until an accident forced him to retire in 1983. George was a member of the United Methodist Church in Goldfield. Survivors include his wife, Connie of Goldfield; three sons, Mike Kraft and wife, Diane, Greg Kraft and wife, Ramona and Roy Kraft and wife, Jodi, all of Goldfield; three sisters, Garnet Bloomquist of Fort Dodge, Nadine Nutter of Shelton, Nebraska and Marie Vosberg of Manson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Fred, Carl, Walt, Richard and Harry; and two sisters, Helen and Nina.
