Gene Robert Aycock

The Arizona Republic , Dec. 3, 2006: Gene Robert Aycock, age 77, left his loved ones on November 18, 2006 at Hospice of the Valley. He is survived by his beloved wife Ann of 52 years, his sons Brian (Sandy) and Ward (Kimarie), and grandchildren Brandon, Kyle, Alexis, and Shane. He is also survived by his brothers Hugh, Dennis (Sandy), and Larry (Sue) Aycock, his sisters Arlene (Bob) Duhon and Linda (Art) Koski, as well as many nieces and nephews. Gene proudly served in the Navy for four years during the Korean War. He attended Phoenix College after his service and studied Art. He was an extraordinarily talented artist, and had a career as a sign and pictorial artist in the valley for over forty years. His joy of life and his wonderful art pieces were a source of happiness to all who knew and loved him. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on July 23, 1929. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 8, 2006 at the Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave. in Glendale, Arizona followed by a 1:00 PM Graveside Service at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. in Phoenix, Arizona. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Glendale Care Center, 4704 W. Diana, to Glendale nurse station #1, and to drivers Morris and Hugo. In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 9720 W. Peoria Ave., Peoria, Arizona 85345 for those who would like to honor Gene's memory.
