John Harris Creech

The Dallas Morning News, Dallas, Texas, Saturday, March 27, 1993: Services for J. Harris Creech, former board member of the Oak Cliff YMCA, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dallas First Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Creech, 79, died of Parkinson's disease Wednesday at his Oak Cliff home. The Bethany, Okla., native graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany and moved to Dallas in 1948 to work for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. as a district manager. Two years later, he established the J. Harris Creech Insurance Agency at Kiest and Hampton in Oak Cliff. Mr. Creech then went to work for Martin & Sons Insurance Agency in Duncanville. He served the Oak Cliff Y as a board member in the 1950s and '60s. Survivors include his wife, Geneva "Gebe' Creech of Dallas; a daughter, Rhonda Childress of Houston; a son, Rod Creech of Euless; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
